This is 1 of 2 murals painted by Winnipeg artist Annie Bergen in Transcona. “Transcona Celebrating 100 Years of Rich History 2012” represents neighbourhood pride, as well as 100 years of community in Transcona from past to present. From right to left, the mural starts with grey tones to depict the former Palma Hotel, a residence for shops workers, along with people and cars from the past. Brighter colours in the mural emerge closer to the present on the left-hand side, which depicts the 2012 Centennial celebrations and community events including the BIZ Market Garden, and the annual Hi Neighbor Festival.
