Charitable Initiatives – Transcona Calendar

The Transcona BIZ printed a 2024 Calendar, again this year, with all funds received from the sale of the calendar going directly to Transcona based charities. The cost of the calendar was paid for by the membership of the Transcona Business Improvement Zone (BIZ).

We are happy to report that donations were made to the following charities:

  • Plessis Resource Centre – $460.00
  • Transcona Council for Seniors – $1,060.00
  • Transcona Food Bank – $2,580.00
  • In addition, the Transcona Nationals Football Club and L’Arche Winnipeg were given 200 calendars and had the potential of raising $2,000 for each cause respectively.

Thank you to Ball Insurance, Chicken Delight, Aunt Monica’s Attic, St. Georges Anglican Transcona, and All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church for selling the calendars.

As well as a big thank you to members of the community who submitted their beautiful snapshots of various locations in Transcona; Cornelius Thiessen, Ava-Rose Reyes, Christopher Haaksma, Mona-Lisa Lauzé, Mark Chapman, Kim Delorme-Enns, Lora Dobson, Nick Thompson, Bruce Gauthier, and Shawn Nason.
