As part of the vision of the Transcona BIZ, our membership contributes to a vibrant community through regularly supporting charitable initiatives in the surrounding community.
In 2023, donations and community support was provided to the following organizations: Ecole Regent Park School Play Structure Renewal, the Transcona Nationals Football Club equipment purchase, The Plessis Family Resource Centre for family summer programming, Rotary Club of Winnipeg (East AM) in support of scholarships for students in River East Transcona School Division, The Transcona Food Bank received funds raised from the Transcona calendars sold, as well as numerous support to BIZ Members charitable initiatives and fundraising efforts.
The Transcona BIZ membership has also had long time partnerships with the Transcona Museum, including a larger donation to the GET ON BOARD: CN 2747 Protective Enclosure Capital Campaign, annual event/media sponsorship for L’Arche Winnipeg’s Walk with L’Arche, a multi-year partnership with the Transcona Legion’s 123 Fallen Solider of Transcona Special Projects.
Past donations have also included the Transcona Scout’s Hall Capital Campaign, the Transcona Food Bank and Transcona With Pride Parade Float.
