The Transcona BIZ is pleased to welcome Leila Dance as its new Executive Director, effective January 6, 2020. She takes over from the retiring Alex Morrison, who led the organization since 2015.

Leila is a life-long resident of Transcona with a passion for supporting and working with local businesses and community organizations. Her background in the non-profit sector includes fundraising and communications positions with the Children’s Wish Foundation, Manitoba and Nunavut Division, the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Foundation, and the ALS Society of Manitoba. As well, in her role as Director of Operations at Park City West Community Centre, Leila developed significant skills as a business manager, team leader, and community liaison.

“We’re thrilled that Leila has agreed to join our organization,” said Brent Thomas, President of the Transcona BIZ. “Her leadership skills and can-do attitude will be of great benefit to the BIZ as we continue to focus on delivering community programs and events. We look forward to supporting Leila in her new role.”
