The Transcona Business Improvement Zone has a mission to create a place where our businesses prosper, and our community thrives. We’re looking for a new team member to be our Events and Office Coordinator. This is a full-time permanent position.

The role of Event & Office Coordinator reports to the Executive Director, works alongside our Community Programs Developer, and is responsible for developing and producing a variety of community programs and events in Transcona, – from Spring Cleanup to winter family activities in downtown Transcona. Along with planning and executing large community events, you will help develop additional community programming for our outdoor venue on Regent Ave W, and elsewhere in the BIZ Zone.
You like to check all the details no matter how small, but you have big ideas and know how to execute them. You love working in a team environment, however you are also a self-starter with the initiative and drive to see projects delivered successfully.
You have a knack for fundraising and obtaining sponsorships for events while understand the needs of event supporters. Along with event coordination and production, this role also provides office administration support for a small team and volunteer board of directors. You are adept with MS office ( Excel, Word and PowerPoint), QuickBooks, know your way around social media, WordPress web content, and love to keep an office organized.
Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated knowledge of the Transcona community. You must have a valid Manitoba Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle, post secondary education in a relevant field, legally eligible to work in Canada, and be able to work evenings and weekends.
