Our Board & Staff

The Transcona BIZ is governed by a dedicated volunteer board made up of Transcona business owners and employees. They work tirelessly to oversee the work of the organization, and to ensure the interests of BIZ members – the businesses located in the zone – are front and centre in all we do.

The hands-on work and (we think) the fun stuff is managed by the energetic office team, with our executive Director, Alex Morrison leading the charge.

Community Promotions

Jessica has been a Transcona girl her whole life and has been working for the BIZ since May 2015. She has currently finished her second year at University of Winnipeg, pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. To have a job with the RCMP is her ultimate goal.

 Jessica is our social media queen and will be keeping everyone up to date on our Twitter, Facebook, website and now our Instagram and Pinterest!
Executive Director

Alex joined the BIZ on November 9, 2015 and brings a wide variety of skills and new ideas to the operation and management of our organization.

With 20 years of senior management expertise in a variety of industries ranging from human resources consulting, industrial innovation and business development, to marketing and communications, Alex is a great fit to take the BIZ to the “next level.”  She has worked in large multi-national corporations, family-run businesses, as well as board-managed organizations, and has a very broad set of experiences on which to draw to help build and amplify the benefits of the BIZ .
